Nigeria Awolowo Prize for Adesina: Presidents and Dignitaries Unite in Applause for Pan-African Leadership

Serving and former African leaders, including President Samia Suluhu Hassan of Tanzania and Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde, joined in praising the exceptional leadership of Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB).

Adesina recently clinched the prestigious 2023 Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership, receiving commendations for his sterling Pan-Africanism. President Azali Assoumani of the Union of the Comoros highlighted Adesina's transformative initiatives, while former Head of State Gen. Yakubu Gowon and elder statesman Chief Emeka Anyaoku hailed his attributes of hard work, diligence, and patriotism.

The event, attended by notable figures like Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu and former Presidents Obasanjo and Jonathan, showcased global recognition for Adesina's outstanding achievements and dedication to Africa's progress.
