The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has lodged a three-count charge against Instagram sensation Pascal Okechukwu, widely recognized as Cubana Chief Priest, for allegedly violating the Central Bank Act of 2007 by spraying and tampering with Naira notes at a social gathering.

Cubana Chief Priest is slated to appear before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, according to information obtained by Channels Television.

The charge, filed on April 4th by EFCC prosecutor Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN) and seven other legal representatives, implicates Okechukwu for tampering with N500 notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria during multiple social events. Count 1 alleges that on February 13th, 2024, at Eko Hotel, Okechukwu tampered with N500 notes for two hours, while Count 2 cites a similar incident in 2020 in Lagos, and Count 3 refers to an episode in January 2024, also in Lagos.

This legal action follows the recent trial and sentencing of controversial figure Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, on comparable charges.
