A tragic incident has unfolded in Lagos State, leaving a teenage apprentice dead and prompting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise. The police spokesperson in Lagos State, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the heartbreaking news on Wednesday, shedding light on the harrowing details of the case.

According to SP Hundeyin, the ordeal began when Cynthia, believed to be the sister of the deceased teenager, Chibueze, reported the case to the Elemoro Police Division early Wednesday morning. Cynthia recounted that Chibueze had returned home from work late Tuesday evening, but soon thereafter, he left the house after taking some money. Shockingly, Chibueze's employer later contacted Cynthia to report a theft of N100,000 from his shop, allegedly perpetrated by Chibueze.

The situation took a tragic turn when Cynthia received a distressing phone call from a neighbor, informing her of the discovery of Chibueze's lifeless body at Abijo Bus Stop, Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. Rushing to the scene, Cynthia found her brother's body, alongside a can of the poisonous substance, sniper, leading her to believe he had taken his own life.

Upon receiving the report, detectives swiftly responded, discovering Chibueze's lifeless body with foam emanating from his mouth and nostrils, indicative of a lethal poisoning. The can of sniper was recovered as evidence, and Chibueze's remains were transported to the Epe General Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and preservation.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities are grappling with the tragic loss of a young life and the devastating toll of mental health issues in the community.
