Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has established the Kano Elders Council (KEC) and appointed all former governors of the state to play pivotal roles in this newly formed advisory body. Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Senator Ibrahim Shekarau are among the notable figures enlisted.

According to a statement released by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Director General of Media and Publicity to the governor, the KEC comprises a diverse array of distinguished individuals, including former governors, deputy governors, legislative leaders, retired justices, former secretaries to the state government, and heads of state civil service, all of whom are natives of the state.

In addition to these prominent figures, the council will also include leaders from various sectors, such as the Ulamas, the business community, traditional rulers, and former heads of security agencies from Kano State. Governor Yusuf emphasizes the wealth of knowledge, wisdom, and experience possessed by these elders, expressing his administration's deliberate intention to tap into their versatile expertise.

"The date for the inauguration of the council will be determined shortly," mentioned the statement, leaving the public in anticipation of the formal launch. The governor's move to bring together a diverse group of accomplished individuals signals a strategic effort to leverage their collective wisdom for the benefit of Kano State.
