The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Aisha Alkali Wakil, also known as Mama Boko Haram, along with Tahiru Saidu Daura and Prince Lawal Shoyode before the Borno State High Court in Maiduguri. They face a two-count charge related to conspiracy and cheating, amounting to N150 million.

Wakil, Daura, and Shoyode held positions within the Complete Care and Aid Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization, when they allegedly committed the offenses in August 2018 in Maiduguri, Borno State. They are accused of inducing Bulama Bakki, the CEO of Bakki Commodity Investment Company Limited, into a contract to procure 5,000 bags of high-quality white beans and seven mobile ultra-scanning machines powered by solar energy. The total value of the contract was N150,000,000.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the court has adjourned the matter while ordering the remand of the defendants at a correctional center. The case centers on alleged fraudulent activities related to the contract and failure to fulfill their obligations, as stipulated by the Borno State Penal Code Law
