An unidentified man was found dead in a Lagos beer parlor after falling asleep while watching TV. Police investigate, conduct an autopsy, and seek to notify the deceased's family.

Police in Lagos have confirmed the death of an unidentified man in his 50s who visited a beer parlor along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway to watch television. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, according to a report filed by the bar owner with the Elere Police Division.

Addressing the incident, the Lagos State Police Command's Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the deceased patron, whose name and address remain unknown, arrived at the open beer parlor around 6:15 pm. "He was later observed to be sleeping on the chair, and there was an attempt to wake him up, but they discovered that he was lifeless," Hundeyin explained.

Detectives from the division visited the scene and found the man's body lifeless on the chair, with no visible signs of violence. The body has been transferred to the Mainland General Hospital Mortuary in Yaba for an autopsy, while efforts are underway to trace the deceased's family.

The police spokesperson emphasized the importance of establishing the deceased's identity and notifying his relatives, urging anyone with information to come forward and assist the investigation.
