Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the son of Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso, the National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), alongside three other nominees, received endorsement from the Kano State House of Assembly to serve as Commissioners in Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s cabinet.

The decision, made after a rigorous screening process, follows Governor Yusuf's submission of Mustapha's name amidst opposition criticism, which the Governor defended as merit-based. Majority Leader Lawan Hussaini Dala highlighted that the nominees, including Mustapha, fulfilled the requisite criteria of being Nigerian citizens over 30 years old with no criminal record.

Governor Yusuf has proposed creating ministries to accommodate the new Commissioners, reflecting his administration's strategic vision. Mustapha's background in business administration, corporate experience, and commitment to agricultural development signal a promising contribution to Kano's governance landscape.

His diverse skill set, honed through various professional endeavors, positions him as a dynamic leader capable of driving positive change and fostering growth within the state.
