Before her arrest, Ms Robert had reportedly evaded numerous attempts by the police to engage with her. This evasion led to her being officially labelled a person of interest on July 22. The police have emphasised that her alleged actions have adversely impacted several individuals, including those who lodged the initial complaint.

The police have clarified that there were some misconceptions surrounding the arrest of Ms Robert. They firmly denied the allegations that they surrounded and threatened her life, stating that those claims were categorically false. According to them, they acted based on credible intelligence regarding her whereabouts, which an alert public member provided. This information played a crucial role in the successful apprehension of Ms. Robert.

Currently, Peace Robert remains in custody. The police have assured that the investigative process will be conducted with diligence and impartiality. They also stated that Ms. Robert would be allowed to share her side of the story, ensuring a balanced evaluation of her alleged involvement in the said activities.

The Police Special Fraud Unit, part of Abuja's Force Criminal Investigation Department, delves deeper into Robert's alleged involvement in serial fraud, impersonation, and cyberstalking. The police have urged any individuals who believe the suspect has victimised them to come forward.

Upon the conclusion of the investigation and based on the evidence gathered, the police have indicated that Ms Robert will face legal proceedings.
