The Nigerian Army has initiated a probe into the case of several candidates involved in its 82 86 Regular Recruits Intake, who falsely claimed Lagos as their state of origin.

Originating from Kaduna State, these candidates purportedly presented certificates of indigenship from Lagos but were apprehended when unable to substantiate their claims.

Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Army spokesman, termed this incident a "serious breach" and asserted that a thorough investigation would be conducted to ascertain the extent of these fraudulent activities.

Nwachukwu emphasized the Army's commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice is served, pledging collaboration with relevant authorities to hold those responsible accountable.

This revelation showcases the military's dedication to maintaining transparency and credibility in its recruitment process.
