In a surprising turn of events, more than 9000 civil servants reportedly failed the 2022 Federal Civil Service Commission's promotion exams, leaving Nigerians in shock and raising questions about the competence of the nation's administrative backbone.

The results, obtained from the Federal Civil Service Commission, indicated that out of approximately 13,000 candidates, only around 4000 managed to pass.

DAILY POST revealed that the list of successful candidates, dated November 30, 2023, raised concerns about the quality of the civil service, with critics blaming flawed recruitment processes, corruption, and the compromise of merit for the alarming outcome.

Experts, including mechanical engineer Livinus Eze and business administrator Chidiebere Eze, emphasize the need for an urgent intervention, training, retraining, and a merit-based approach to restore the civil service's credibility. The debate intensifies as Nigerians grapple with the implications of a compromised workforce on national productivity.
