Suspected terrorists attacked a military base in Gujba, Yobe State, killing a soldier and torching a patrol vehicle, confirmed by Yobe State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim.

The attack occurred around midnight, with residents fleeing to nearby bushes for safety. The assailants targeted the military base but didn't harm civilians or loot stores. Nigerian reactions on social media varied, with some expressing concern over the security situation and others questioning the military's response compared to recent incidents.

Many Nigerians noted the contrast between the military's swift and forceful response to the attack in Delta State, where soldiers were killed, and their relative silence on the Yobe incident. Following the killings in Okuama community, the Nigerian Army promptly tweeted "The Audacity" and razed down the community, sparking controversy.

However, the military's response to the attack in Yobe has been noticeably subdued, leading to criticism and calls for consistency in addressing security threats across regions.
