The kidnapped schoolchildren and teachers from the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools in Emure-Ekiti, Ekiti State, have been freed after enduring a harrowing seven-day ordeal with their abductors. The release, which occurred around 2.00 a.m on Sunday, marks the end of an agonizing wait for the families and community.

A short video clip captured the emotional moment as the tired pupils and teachers sat on the floor, their faces revealing the toll of their captivity. The kidnappers had initially demanded a N100 million ransom, although it remains unclear whether it was paid for their release. T

The abduction transpired when a school bus, carrying five schoolchildren, three teachers, and the driver, was ambushed by gunmen.

Despite earlier debunked rumors of their release, the actual freedom of the victims brings a ray of hope to a community previously gripped by uncertainty.
