The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has urged Nigerians to pray for President Bola Tinubu's government as the nation grapples with severe challenges. The Yoruba monarch stressed the need for spiritual intervention during these trying times.

Ooni Ogunwusi stated, "I will pray for the unity of Africa. Things are very hard. We all know the economic challenges that people are facing. This is the time we need spiritual and divine intervention. My annual Olojo seclusion. This is how my ancestors have been doing it."

He continued, "We should pray very well because things are very hard. We all know the state of the economy. It is a sensitive thing that needs prayer, which should not go out of hand. My prayer also would be to pray for divine intervention for the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in order to turn things right because the expectation of people is so high."

The Ooni emphasized that life was becoming increasingly unbearable for Nigerians and called on the populace to support President Tinubu in steering the nation in a positive direction.

Furthermore, Oba Ogunwusi urged Africans to unite, promote peace, and work towards the development of the continent. He emphasized the importance of the pan-African movement and called on stakeholders to play their roles in ensuring African unity.

The Olojo festival, marked by elaborate ritual prayers led by the Ooni, is a significant cultural event in Ile-Ife, Osun State, celebrating Yoruba tradition and heritage. It holds annually in October, with its origins traced back to Ogun, the god of iron and the first son of Oduduwa in Yoruba mythology.
