Talent manager Paulo Okoye has predicted a challenging year for Afrobeat artists in 2024, citing the soaring prices of concert tickets and a sluggish global economy as contributing factors.
Taking to his Instagram story, Okoye expressed concern about the tough times ahead for artists across all categories of Afrobeat. He noted that only Davido and Burna Boy have managed to maintain momentum by hosting a few concerts this year.
Okoye cautioned against overpricing, likening the situation to the decline experienced by reggae musicians. He emphasized the need for artists to adapt and reduce their prices to remain relevant in the industry.
