A tragic incident occurred in Lagos State as a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) driver, Sunday Bukola, reportedly crushed a five-year-old child named Malik to death at Palmgroove in the Onipanu area.

The accident happened around 1:30 pm on Saturday when the driver hit Malik, his mother, Rofiat, and his brother, Basit, as they were crossing the BRT lane. Malik succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while Rofiat and Basit sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident, stating that the driver had been arrested, and investigations were ongoing.

This tragic event comes after previous reports of fatalities involving BRT vehicles in Lagos, highlighting concerns over road safety and the need for stricter measures to prevent such accidents.
