Metro 2 Bank Workers, 4 Others Shot Dead by Bandits During Robbery Operation in Osun

Public Relation Officer, Osun State police Command, Folasade Odoro, on Friday said at least, six persons were killed on Thursday evening when some heavily armed bandits attacked the branch of a second generation bank located beside Modakeke High School, Modakeke, headquarters of Ife East local government, Osun State.

According to Daily Post, he said six persons, including customers of the bank were shot dead by the armed robbers during the robbery operation.

It was gathered that the remains of the deceased were taken to the palace of the traditional ruler of the town, Oba Francis Adedoyin, Ogunsua of Modakeke as the ancient town was gripped with tension over the incident.

The PPRO said the police chased the armed robbers to the outskirts of the town before they escaped, assuring, however, that “men of the Nigeria Police Force were still in search of the robbers.”
