Sports 2014 Federation Cup final: NFF awaits Lagos State Government to fix date

Teslim Balogun stadium.JPG The Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) has said that it awaits response from the Lagos state government before a date will be fixed for the final of the 2014 Federation Cup.

It was initially thought that the Federations Cup finals will come up this weekend in Lagos, but the African Youth Championship qualifiers in Kaduna has forced the game to be rescheduled.

The NFF executives are believed to have deployed their time and resources into overseeing the qualifiers for the Flying Eagles, putting the Federations Cup on hold.

Lagos State agreed that it will host the final at the Teslim Balogun Stadium but the NFF said they are at the final stage of discussion with the representatives of the Lagos government to find a convenient date for the final.

"We don’t have a date for the final of the Federation Cup yet, and we shall continue to wait for a date from the Lagos Government and we are hoping that will be done on time,” NFF director of competitions Mohammed Sanusi told Goal.

Defending champions Enyimba will battle former champions Dolphins for the honours of who would win the 2014 edition.
