Golden Eaglets coach Emmanuel Amuneke on Monday screened over 600 players as he prepares for the forthcoming African Under 17 Championship next year.
The players went through the trials in Abuja and Amuneke said that he was impressed with the turnout, adding that he is looking at choosing the best players for the tournament.
“It is good we are starting right away and today’s (Monday) session has been very good because it gave us the opportunity to see some equally young talents,” Amuneke said.
“We are going to give everybody equal opportunities since we want only the best and we hope to see more players in the coming days.”
Niger will be hosting the competition next year, and Nigeria will be hoping to win the competition this time around after finishing as runners-up in Morocco last year.
