800 policemen were on Wednesday deployed for a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP rally in Kaduna because the first lady was expected to be in attendance; PUNCH reports.

This is coming days after Lagos governor, Babatunde Fashola blamed President Goodluck Jonathan for the Lekki robbery which was allegedly caused by a shortage of security personnel.

The first lady however missed the rally as she was in Rivers state for the PDP women rally. The 800 policemen deployed for the Kaduna rally also had the support of operatives of other security agencies, including soldiers, who were stationed at strategic locations leading to the venue of the PDP women rally.

Amina Sambo, wife of Nigeria's Vice President represented the first lady at the occasion. She urged women to come out en masse and re-elect President Jonathan.
