Dangote Group has been forced by Nigeria's tough economic condition to sack 48 of its workers in Nigeria.

The Dangote Cement Plc recently let go 36 expatriates working for it and the Dangote Industries Limited have also fired 12 of its Nigerian workers.

The firm, in a statement released, said it had a rough year due to the foreign exchange troubles and increased costs.

This is the first phase of the "staff cutback," Dangote said.
