Fifty seven year old Charles Carlson, an American citizen, has been found dead in an hotel room at Ellyx Ville hotel, in Lekki Phase one, Lagos state.
According to The Nation, Carlson's corpse was discovered beside a rope at about 5:30pm on Tuesday. The cause of his death is unknown.
Reports say the hotel management was curious as to why he didn't come down for breakfast, and decided to check on him when he didn't pick telephone calls placed to his room and mobile phone.
His business partner was then contacted and his hotel room was forced open only to discover him dead close to the door. It was not clear if the man committed suicide with the rope found beside him.
The police at the Maroko division were informed of the incident and they have evacuated his corpse.
