Barely one week after the police allegedly shot Senator Magnus Abe with a rubber bullet at close range, fully armed thugs have disrupted a Pro-Amaechi rally which was organized by the Save Rivers Movement, in Bori, Khana Local Government of Rivers state.
According to eyewitness report, the rally which was scheduled to kick off at about 2:00pm, however, as early as 7:00am more than hundred youths suspected to be thugs invaded the venue of the rally and destroyed Chairs, canopied and loud speakers meant for the rally.Several people sustained injury and the Channels Television Satellite Vehicle positioned to give the rally life coverage was also damaged.
Meanwhile, the Rivers state Police command who were reportedly informed of the rally before hand and expected to provide security is yet to comment on this latest development.
