The wife of the Emir of Bama, who was kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents in 2014 has been rescued by the Nigerian army.

The mother of five was forcefully snatched from her husband’s domain in September 2014 with two of her kids, a teenage boy and his baby sister.

The General Officer Commanding, 7th Division, Major General Victor Ezugwu, has handed over the rescued woman to the Emir, Kyari Umar Ibn Elkanemi, in a private family ceremony, Channels TV reports.

Reports say the woman was rescued along Damboa road, following ongoing military operations in the area.

She returned with only one of the kids she was abducted with, as her teenage son was gruesomely murdered by the insurgents, reports say.
