Sports Australia beat Super Falcons 2-0

Nigeria's Super Falcons have lost their first game at the ongoing FIFA Women World cup in Canada, after conceding two goals to Australia on Friday evening.

Kyah Simon scored two goals in each half of the game, sending Edwin Okon's side to the bottom of the group.

USA played a goalless draw with Sweden in the other group game.

Nigeria faces the tough task of needing a result – likely a win – against the United States on Tuesday.

Okon says Tuesday’s match is a must-win, but there is no fear of the Americans, who are ranked No. 2 in the world.

“History doesn’t play football. The game is 11-v-11 and not history,” Okon said after Friday’s match.
