Nigeria’s senior women national team, began the defence of their Africa Women Cup of Nations title, with a comprehensive 6-0 thrashing of Mali on Sunday.
Arsenal Ladies forward, Asisat Oshoala, scored four times as the Florence Omagbemi-led team out their West African rivals to the sword.
Oshoala and Francesca Ordega put the Super Falcons two goals up within 40 minutes, before Uchechi Sunday made it 3-0 from the penalty spot seven minutes after the break.
Oshoala then scored a second-half hat-trick, to give Nigeria a fine start in Group B.
The Falcons will take on Ghana in their next group fixture on Wednesday at the Stade Municipal de Limbe.
