Sports Back in management: Real Sociedad appoints David Moyes as their new coach

Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has been appointed as the new coach of Spanish side Real Sociedad.

Moyes was sacked by United, just ten months into his six years contract, after he was appointed as Sir Alex Ferguson's replacement.

But the Scot will now be taking up the challenge of managing abroad in Spain, and is expected to help the club secure a place in Europe next season.

Moyes beat former West Brom manager Pepe Mel to the job, and will now replace Jagoba Arrasate who was sacked by Sociedad.

"Real Sociedad have reached an agreement with David Moyes," a statement from the club read.

"Details about the official presentation of Real Sociedad's new coach and who will form part of his technical team will be published tomorrow [Tuesday] morning."
