One person has been confirmed to have died from Lassa Fever in Bauchi State while two suspected cases are being closely monitored.
Head of the Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Agency, Pharmacist Ibrahim Gamawa made the disclosure in Bauchi yesterday.
Speaking to our Daily Trust reporter on telephone he said that the victim died on his way to hospital from Dul ward in Tafawa Balewa Local Government.
Pharmacist Gamawa said that the two suspected cases were from Alkaleri Local Government and Liman Katagum in Bauchi Local Government area.
"The victim died on his way to hospital, but it was established from the samples taken from him that he died from the fever. For the two suspected cases, we have sent their samples to Irua in Edo State for analysis and we are waiting for the result in order to know that the cases are that of Lass Fever or not,"he said.
