The hideout of suspected Boko Haram insurgents has been raided by the officers of the Nigerian Army, 1st Brigade. The hideout was located at the Gidan-Igwai area of Sokoto metropolis. The operation was conducted as part of the ongoing efforts to rid the state of the fleeing insurgents from the volatile areas of Yobe, Borno and Adamawa States.
The location had been discovered by information from a tip-off by concerned citizens and residents of the environs. It was also the army’s duty to cleanse Nigeria of insurgency and other criminal activities.
The Army commended the residents for their support and cooperation.
The insurgents in the course of the operation carried out by the Army, lost some of their members in the process.
