According to THIS DAY, a bomb went off near a federal high court in Port Harcourt , the capital city of Rivers state.
The blast occurred when the court was about to rule on the legality of the local government election held in the state earlier in the year.
Reacting to the blast, Governor Nyesom Wike said that there were no casualties.
"I think they were trying to disrupt the result ... the high court decided that the election was illegal. It (the blast) was close to the high court, nobody was killed and it didn't affect the building."
