President Muhammadu Buhari has given the DSS and the police full backing to probe House of Representatives members who have been accused of padding the 2016 budget, Punch reports.
Investigations showed that Buhari, as part of his commitment to the anti-graft war was favourably disposed to investigations into the allegations in spite of his closeness to the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara.
According to Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina, the President has made it clear to all those concerned that he would not tolerate a situation where he would present a budget and the federal lawmakers would pass a document completely different from what he submitted to them.
