Head of Nigeria Women League board, Dilichukwu Onyedinma has described Courtney Dike's attitude to national assignment as an exemplary behaviour, urging other Nigerian footballers to emulate the Super Falconets player.
Dike refused the $7,000 bonus reward accruing to her for representing Nigeria at the FIFA U-20 world cup where Nigeria finished in second position behind Germany.
The 19-year old was one of the stars that shone for Nigeria in Canada, excelling in attack alongside Asisat Oshoala.
" It’s an exemplary behavior from a female footballer. With such discipline from Courtney Dike and the backing of her parents, this should be applauded and perhaps celebrate her.”
"She’s a star and a patriotic Nigerian who did not put money above service. The Minister is aware and we’ll push this patriotic act before the Football Federation so it can inspire many,” Dilichukwu told footballlive.ng
