A family of three and a commercial motorcycle rider (okada) were crushed to death by a commercial bus operator at Sagamu Road, Ikorodu, Lagos state. The family were passengers on the Okada and were riding along the road that is restricted for okada operation. The unfortunate incident occurred last Wednesday evening.
The family deceased were identified as Yaya Mogaji, 43, Iyabo Mogaji, 33, and their one year old boy, Ayomide Mogaji. The Okada rider was identified as Jamiu Olatunji, a former resident of Orimedu Village, Ikorodu. The bus driver immediately fled the scene and is nowhere to be found.
The police, although admitting that it was a truly unfortunate incident, said that the deceased were deviants. The spokesperson for the Police, Ngozi Braide said, “If the deceased had adhered to the law, they would probably still be alive.”
