The Kaduna State Government has warned landowners who leave their land undeveloped in the state that they risk losing such land.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the state’s Development Property Company, Mahmud Gazara, said the directive became imperative because the company had no option than to key into the policy direction of Mallam Nasir el-Rufai’s administration in the state.

The KSDPC boss, who spoke to journalists on Sunday, said the government’s directive that landowners should develop their properties or risk revocation was in tandem with the mandate and plans of the company.

He recalled that the state government, under El-Rufai, recently gave owners of undeveloped land/properties in the state 90 days to develop them or have them revoked.

Gazara explained that undeveloped land or properties were capable of aiding insecurity.

The KSDPC boss added, “We also have redundant assets, after we finish our physical verification, we will look at how we can convert them to useful assets by deprecating same where they will be more useful.”
