Sports EPL Team Of The Weekend: Two Chelsea, Two Arsenal and Three Tottenham Players Make First Eleven

Commentator Peter Drewry's last summation about Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Manchester City was put this way: " City no closer, Chelsea no further", which perfectly summed up a game that didn't really live up to the pre-match hype.

Not the expectation people craved for, having already accrued the mantra of the: "clash of the season."

What came out was an anti-climax to what was envisaged, although both teams would be content that none of them were on the losing end.

Meanwhile, Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham had a good weekend, recording victories in their own games as the race for Champions League places hots up.

Nothing is decided yet, teams will still drop points and it is looking well poised as a season that will go down the wire.

Below we have drafted a first eleven comprising of outstanding players this weekend.

Coach: Arsene Wenger (4-4-2)

*Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris (Tottenham)
The capabalities of the French goalkeeper has never been in doubt, and he proved just that against West Brom on Saturday.

Lloris made good saves that ensured Tony Pulis' lost his first game since taking charge of West Brom.

Tipped what looked like certain goal over the bar and the way he went down expertly to save an effort in the second half, helped Spurs keep a clean sheet.

*Right Back: Hector Bellerin (Arsenal)
Growing in leaps and bounds, Bellerin has been constantly churning out good performances for the Gunners every week.

The 19-year old on Sunday followed up on his good output against Manchester City two weeks ago and delivered against Aston Villa.

What better way to crown a performance than with a goal, Bellerin netted the fifth goal that was an icing on Arsenal's game against Villa.

*Central Defence: Kurt Zouma (Chelsea)
For Jose Mourinho to have used Zouma against Man City, shows the enormous faith that he has on him.

And the young French defender repaid the faith shown in him, fulfilling his brief of detailing Sergio Aguero in the game.

Starting ahead of Gary Cahill means that he must have earned it and deserves to be in the team.

Zouma played two top games against Liverpool and Man City in under a week, and his performance justified his inclusion.

*Central Defence: Ashley Williams (Swansea)
Williams led by example and played a pivotal role in helping Swansea secure a 1-0 win over Southampton on Sunday.

The Welshman put his body on the line and defended astutely for his team as they came away will all three points from Saint Mary's.

Turning point was the double block in the second half on Saido Maine, headed out the first effort and also clearing on the line.

*Left Back: Daley Blind (Manchester United)
He actually starred in midfield for his team at Old Trafford, but in order to accommodate other players, a place must be found for him in the team of the week.

Being versatile, the Dutch player can fill in at any position from midfield to defence. His assist for Robin Van Persie's goal against Leicester City is reminiscent of the same effort at the 2014 World Cup tournament.

He can whip in those crosses from the wings and he sometimes does it with consummate ease.

*Defensive Midfield: Nemanja Matic (Chelsea)
In the absence of Cesc Fabregas, Matic held sway and made sure his team was protected with his all round impressive game.

Matic did a good job on David Silva, stifling the Spaniard from influencing the game at the Stamford Bridge.

And Chelsea got their goal as a result of his vision, picking out Eden Hazard in space as he lofted a diagonal pass to him, with the Belgian squaring a cross to Loic Remy to score.

*Central Midfield : Jonjo Shelvey (Swansea)
The only problem Shelvey has is his inability to consistently churn out good performances for his team. Shelvey has the ability to connect defence to attack without much hassles.

Shelvey was instrumental in Swansea's victory over Southampton on Sunday, scoring a spectacular goal that won them the game.

*Left Midfield: Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)
Ozil is gradually getting back to full fitness and proving what an asset that is for the Gunners.

Ozil assisted one goal on Sunday, and also got on the score-sheet himself in their 5-0 rout of Aston Villa.

That flick-on for Olivier Giroud's opener was just world class and worth every penny Arsenal paid for him.

* Right Midfield: Christain Eriksen (Tottenham)
Very influential player for Spurs, the Dane has been the creative hub for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

He netted a wonderful free-kick in their 3-0 win over West Brom on Saturday and provided the assist for Harry Kane's opening goal in the game.

*Attack: Harry Kane (Tottenham)
Kane is the man of the moment now, singled-handedly powering Tottenham with his goals .

On Saturday, Kane scored a brace at the Hawthorns and has shown his consistency in front of goal.

Kane got his reward for hard-work, when on Monday he agreed a five-and-half-year extension to his contract deal.

*Attack: Jonathan Walters (Stoke City)
Walters scored what is described as the perfect hat-trick on Saturday, heading in a goal and scoring with both legs against QPR.

And it was a landmark achievement, because Walters scored Stoke's first top-flight hat-trick since 1984 on his 200th appearance for the Club
