The Majority Leader at the Federal House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has pointed out that President Muhammadu Buhari is not doing much wrong in his political appointments.

There had been an uproar that the President favored the north against the south in his appointments.

Gbajabiamila however pointed out that Buhari's appointments shouldn't be criticized although they appear lopsided on the surface.

“While it may appear to be so on the surface, it is important before conclusions are drawn, to first do an analysis on the spread of same appointments in the last government," he said.

"Second, the North is not homogeneous, but consists of North-Central, North-East and North-West with all the states being independent and claim outing for recognition under the principles of federal character as they are all federating units.

“One thing I do not believe is that the President is irredentist and he will consider whether or not these are justified complaints. He is also a man of strong convictions and will balance all justifiable yearnings with his conscience, which I know is pan-Nigerian," Mr. Femi added.
