Metro FG Fixes Date to Prosecute Arrested Boko Haram Suspects

The federal government of Nigeria has decided to begin the prosecution of a host of people arrested in suspicion of being members of the Boko Haram sect.

According to a statement released by the office of the Accountant General of the federation, a special prosecution arrangement already put it in place would commence the trial of 1,670 of the detainees in Wawa Barracks, Kainji, Niger State, in October.

After this, the cases of 651 suspects currently detained at Maiduguri prison, would be taken up by the special arrangement.

220 others will be released and made to go through a "de-radicalization" process.
