US based Prof. Akintunde Akinwande has turned down the presidency's nomination to be Board Chairman of the National Electric Regulations Commission, NERC.
He teaches at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, (MIT) Boston.
On Wednesday, he failed again to appear before the Senate to be screened for the position. He missed the first screening in October.
A member of the committee, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi said Akinwande had sent a personal message to decline the offer.
