Herdsmen have launched a fresh attack on Ipiga village in Ohimini LGA, Benue state, leaving many people dead and several others injured.
Reports say the herders stormed the village about noon and started shooting sporadically and killing everyone in sight.
It's believed that the herdsmen on Sunday attacked Ajegbe, a neighbouring village and wreaked havoc there after which they entered Ipiga on Monday afternoon. The occupants of the village ran heather-skelter and many abandoned their homes for the bush.
However, a national coordinator of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), Garus Gololo claimed that two Fulani herdsmen were killed in Ohimini on Sunday with over 1000 cows missing while some Fulanis also got missing.
