HON. ANIEFIOK AKPAN, NATIONAL YOUTH LEADER OF GOODLUCKTOGOODLUCK (G2G) 2015 PROJECT ENGAGES A NON VIOLENT & ISSUE BASED SENSITIZATION APPROACH AS HE INTENSIFIES CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT JONATHAN’S RE-ELECTION
On one of his non-violence sensitization and mobilization campaign for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election, he recently addressed a crop of Northern State Youth Leaders, from the North East, North West and North Central in Kaduna. He stressed to them that, as we draw close to the General Election, it is very imperative for Nigerian youths to resist intimidations and manipulations by some leaders and politicians who would want to take advantage to use them for their selfish scripts. He emphasized that, we cannot afford to allow some leaders of dishonesty and hypocrisy to make us destroy our own future with our hands. We should resist out rightly the deceits from elements of undemocratic goliaths.
He made allusion to the inevitability of change, but meaningless without impact. However, there is a wind of change blowing in Nigeria, it is so visible, impactful and that change agent is President Goodluck Jonathan and it is imperative that we unite to encourage the continuity of this positive change. The truth is that President Jonathan has performed extremely well. He has reformed our ramshackle policies, thereby providing a true democratic atmosphere for transformation drive. We as Nigerian youths must realize that President Jonathan is a gift from God to our generation, a man with so much passion for the peace, unity and development of Nigeria, an elder statesman of very high reputation and a true democrat that deserves to be encouraged. President Jonathan’s Transformation Agenda has been the most successful government program of its kind, yielding tremendous results despite the hiccups and distractions posed by political detractors and destructive wave of terrorism that has gripped our nation.
Please note that, under President Jonathan’s watch as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Nigeria has transformed to be the largest economy in African and one of the fastest growing economy in the world. All sectors in Nigeria, ranging from Agriculture, Education, Sports, Aviation, Security, Environment, Health, Youth Development, Women Empowerment, Works, Transportation, Trade Investments, ICT, Culture and Tourism, Petroleum Industry e.t.c. have all received maximum attention and the train of transformation is moving with accelerated speed, firing from all cylinders.
As Nigeria Youths, we now have a voice and stake in the Nigerian polity. President Goodluck Jonathan has not just transformed Nigeria but has also brought Goodluck to Nigeria in Sports, Entertainment Industries, e.t.c. thereby creating job and empowerment opportunities for Nigerian youths and this is even the more reason we must unite to ensure that GOODLUCK hands over to GOODLUCK come 29th May 2015.
On another note, true democracy eluded Nigeria until President came into office. At no time until now have Nigerians had such unbridled freedom of speech and expression without fear of persecution. Please note that our anti-graft agencies are very active now.
Considering the poll shift, it is in the best interest of the nation, as the INEC requires touch on certain grey areas and the need to ameliorate the current security challenges in some part of the north east.
The youths were charged to remain steadfast towards ensuring that they garner support for the massive transformation by President Jonathan. In his speech “As you go back please ensure that our colleagues in the various states pick up their PVC’s”. He also, admonished them not to offer themselves for political brigandage before, during and after the forthcoming general elections. We cannot compromise the unity, peace and stability of our nation. Conduct yourselves peacefully as you come out en-mass, come rain come shine to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan/PDP and ensure that your vote is protected, by so doing we would have collectively secured our future and that of this great nation.
“It was gathered that the converged northern state’ youth leaders gave a re-sounding confidence in President Jonathan’s ongoing transformation drive and pledged to go all out to canvass votes in their respective states for President Jonathan’s re-election bid. They also applauded the Dr. Adamu Muazu’s led PDP Leadership FOR SUSTAINING Stability and Focus and expresses very high confidence in PDP”
