The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Friday declared that it would raise an independent team of medical experts to evaluate the health conditions of the First Lady of Enugu State, Mrs. Clara Chime.
This is as the Commission stated that there is no immunity for any person that abuses the right of any Nigerian citizen.
Briefing journalists on Friday in Abuja on the findings of its five man team that went to Enugu as a result of the petition of Clara that the State Governor, Sullivan Chime, had incarcerated and subjected her to horrific and intolerable conditions that curtailed her freedom and threatened the enjoyment of her human rights, the Executive Secretary of NHRC, Prof Bem Angwe, stated that Mrs. Chime had for the past two weeks been confined to her apartment on medical advice and for security reasons.
