Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, has insisted that he was not kept in the know as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) appointed Gernot Rohr as the new Super Eagles coach.
The German has since been named Sunday Oliseh’s replacement on a two-year deal, but Dalung says he does not recognize him.
“We have a German-born coach but that is not official to me anyway, because I have only been reading about it online,” Dalung told News Agency of Nigeria.
“However, I will continue to maintain that we need to develop our own.
“There is no better way of making progress than to develop our own indigenous coaches.”
