Rev. Father Christian Amusuo, the parish priest in charge of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, Eziama-Osuama, in Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo state has been arrested by the police for shooting his assistant, identified simply as Rev. Father Precious.

He is being held and interrogated at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for attempted murder.

Reports say he shot his assistant on June 23 at the parish house after a week of prolonged argument and acrimony between them.

“The shooting was a last minute resort by the parish priest to decisively deal with his assistant, who he allegedly accused of being disobedient and flouting his orders", someone close to the issue said.

“We learnt that in a fit of anger, Rev Father Amusuo went into his room and brought out his gun and fired his assistant.

“However, the victim did not die as parish workers came to his rescue.”

why does he have a gun?
Because of fulani herdsmen.

Nigerians are taking the law into their hands now. Ikorodu people are policing themselves. Each home now possesses a cutlass and whistle.

Now he has used it for the wrong purpose and will have to face the law.
As for Ikorodu people, I really dont know what to say about that situation, dont they have OPC or shouldnt police be stationed there already?

People don't trust the authorities to keep them safe. That's why people buy guns. In some parts of the world it is legal to get a gun and you are right to gun down anyone who trespasses on your property. There's a reason for this- government don't have enough manpower to secure those large expanses of land.

The Badoo situation in Ikorodu has turned macabre. Those guys kill people for money rituals, it's said. The people also believed that the ruler of the area and it's elites are behind those guys. Once the police arrests them they are freed later on.

So the courageous people of Ikorodu decided to take the law into their own hands. If the government can't protect you, you protect yourself- legally or illegally.
