Former Super Eagles skipper Austin Jay Jay Okocha has called on people to stop lamenting about Nigeria's non-qualification for the 2015 African Nations Cup tournament.
Okocha argued that those who were better prepared in the qualifiers got the reward of their hard work.
Nigeria finished third in their group during the qualifiers, missing out on a chance to defend the Nations Cup title that they won last year in South Africa.
“Those that qualified for the finals have earned it. Concerning Nigeria, it is useless to lament," Okocha told told Le Buteur.
Okocha who represented Nigeria at five Nations Cup tournaments, advised the country to learn from its previous mistakes and prevent it from happening again.
“Nigeria was favored to be among the 16 qualifiers, but this is not the case. We must try to understand what went wrong and correct errors, so that they do not re-occur, " the former Bolton Wanderers player added.
