Sports Junior Ajayi Vows To Help Nigeria Win African U23 Championship Title

Tunisia-based striker, Junior Ajayi, who recently joined the Nigeria U23 team in Gambia has assured that he will help the Samson Siasia-led team win the 2015 U23 AFCON in Senegal.

“I have come to contribute my little quota in ensuring that we not only pick an Olympic ticket, but also win the Africa U23 Cup of Nations," said Ajayi on arrival in Banjul, The Gambia, to join the team prior to the tournament.

"I can't describe how I feel any time I report for national duty. For me, it's an honour to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians, this I have come to do, God willing.”

The former 3SC player currently play for CS Sfaxien, and he will be remembered for scoring the two goals that eliminated Congo Brazzaville from the U23 championship, which will serve as qualifying tournament for next year’s Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The team are due to play their final warm-up match on Tuesday before they depart for next-door Senegal, while their opening game is on Sunday against Mali. Mtnfootball
