Politics Kaduna Speaker Dreads Impeachment

THE Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Mu’azu Gangara, was yesterday, Thursday 15th of August given a 30 day grace to improve on his leadership style.

According to the chairman, House Committee on information, Yakubu Yusuf, the leadership style of the Speaker created a sour relationship between the Executive and the Judiciary.

He added that attempts to make him see reason and change were to no avail until the motion for his impeachment was brought to the House by Hon. Philemon Mana, a Peoples Democratic Party member, representing Makera State Constituency yesterday.

“The Speaker of the House, between today and the next 30 days, will be the architect of his own fortune. If he changes, good for him, but if the House still remains weak, then we know what to do.”

Yakubu also added, `“I want to use this opportunity to debunk claims in some quarters that members were given N1m each by the Vice President to effect the removal of the Speaker. This is baseless and a lie.”
