The Lagos State government has arrested a total of 57 hoodlums in Oshodi over alleged violations of the state’s environmental laws. Twenty of the hoodlums are agred between 14 to 17 years of age.

The Chairman of the Lagos Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences Unit, Chief Superintendent of Police Bayo Sulaiman, explained that the underaged suspects would be prosecuted at a family court, and if convicted, would be taken to remand homes for proper rehabilitation.

He lamented that under aged children were being recruited and groomed by the adult touts to take over from them in the future.

The Chairman also debunked claims that the children were taken to Badagry Prison, citing that it would ever happen as the government always ensures that the under aged always went to remand homes.

Area! I hail o. Here I was thinking hoodlums had been totally eradicated in Oshodi. Fashola, there's more work to be done. These guys' population should be kept to the barest minimum.
