Sports Liverpool coach compares Phillipe Coutinho to Luis Suarez

Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers has likened Philippe Coutinho as having the same abilities as his former teammate Luis Suarez.

The Brazilian scored the winning goal in stoppage time for Liverpool who came from behind to beat Bolton 2-1 in their FA Cup replay.

The 22-year-old’s recently signed an extension to his contract at Liverpool which will keep him at the club until 2020, and Rodgers believes he has the potential to become one of the best players in the world.

"You would pay money to watch the kid," he said.

"He is a great role model for lots of technical players in this country. He will become world class in the next couple of years.

"Luis Suarez grew and grew in this team and I can see Coutinho the same way, although he might not be as prolific.

"Signing a new deal shows he is really committed to Liverpool and his development."
