LMC fines Shooting Stars N3million

Shooting Stars of Ibadan has been fined the sum of N3million by the League Management Company of the Nigeria Professional Football League,for abandoning their game against Sunshine Stars of Akure.
3SC in addition to the fine,equally got a three-point deduction after the LMC studied the match report from the officials.
In a letter signed by the Chief Operating Officer of LMC, Salihu Abubakar, and addressed to both clubs,the LMC said that the Oluyole Warriors violated relevant articles of the regulation guiding the conduct of the Nigerian Football league.
“Official match reports on the above match indicated that Shooting Stars refused to come out for the second half, citing physical assault on the Oyo State sports commissioner and their cameraman as reasons,” the letter read.
“However, nothing in the reports corroborates the claims of Shooting Stars. The LMC is therefore satisfied that Shooting Stars deliberately abandoned the game.”
