The “2015 Lexus IS” is a compact sport sedan packing some of the best high-end technologies and features. The standout feature in the design of the 2015 Lexus IS’ is its amazing spindle grille, which is located right in front of it. The comfort and quality of the Lexus IS is simply breathtaking, although not too different from previous models, but still it provides users unsurpassed satisfaction and safety. We shall examine the amazing capabilities of this Sedan under the following subheadings.

Design and Interior

The 2015 Lexus IS comes with an aggressive exterior design, but then, it still looks very sleek and breathtaking. The interior design is crafted with some of the best materials, but still not a significant improvement on the previous models. The materials used in the design are nice and top-notch, but it’s the design that really stands out. The dashboard is loaded with modern safety and control features that are normally common with high-end luxury rides. The dynamic stance, aggressive spindle grille and sharp curves adds so much appeal to its design, but it still looks very similar to its previous design. Just below the head light, you’d find the LED day time running lights securely housed in their own strip, giving the Lexus IS a sophisticated appearance.

Performance

This is one of the highpoints of the 2015 Lexus IS sedan, despite the fact that it’s similar to its previous model. The driver’s compartment witnessed little changes. The seating position was reduced by 20mm in the 2015 model, especially when compared to 2013 model. The driver’s mode selection system gives the driver greater control over his vehicle, because it gives him the ability to easily sharpen or soften the vehicle’s reaction as he deems fit.

The engine of the 2015 Lexus sedan comes in two variants, one of which is the IS 250, which comes with a 2.5-litre V6 engine rated at 204 horsepower, and the second is the IS 350 with a 3.5-litre V6 engine rated at 306 horsepower. It should be noted that the later variant, which is the 350 model, comes with a stronger and better performance stat, especially when it comes to speed and engine performance but requires more gas per mileage. In addition, the 350 RWD variant only comes with 8-Speed manual transmission while other variants of the 2015 Lexus IS basically feature the 6-Speed automatic transmission system. However, the 6-speed engine variant performs exceptionally well, going by industry standards, but its shifts are not as fast or as smooth as the 8-speed engine variant.

Quality

The quality of materials and styling of the 2015 Lexus IS didn’t do badly when compared to similarly priced products. The cabin compartment of this amazing vehicle offers more legroom space than previous models, but there a little disparity when it comes to internal space between the all-wheel-drive models and rear wheel drive options. The Center tunnel in the all-wheel-drive options is larger than what you’d find in non-all-wheel-drive models because of its larger transfer case. The Trunk room of the 2015 Lexus IS isn’t bad either. At 13.8 cubic feet, it compares very much with similarly priced vehicles in the market.

Safety features

This perhaps the most important feature to lookout for when purchasing vehicles. Most people love to know the safety specs of the vehicle they ride, as it goes to a large extent in mitigating certain safety fears they may have about it. In moderate overlap and side-impact crash test, the 2015 Lexus IS was rated as “good” by the Insurance institute of highway safety (IIHS), a U.S nonprofit organization. The 2015 Lexus IS Vehicles fitted the optional advanced Pre-Collision system package, which is designed to enhance front crash prevention, were also given the pass-mark by the institute. Other safety features worth mentioning include: 10 airbags, blind spot notification, cross-traffic warning, lane departure warning, and subscription free weather and traffic updates.

Fuel Economy

The Fuel economy of a vehicle is one most important aspect people scrutinize when purchasing vehicles. It’s obvious that every vehicle has its own fuel consumption rate, so making a good decision in this area can, to a large extent, save you good money in the long-run. The more powerful IS 350 models have the following fuel consumption rates, IS 350 - 19 miles per gallon for city, 28 mpg for highways and 22 mpg combine. The IS 350 all-wheel-drive fuel consumption rate is 19 mpg for city, 26 mpg for highway and 21 mpg combined. The 2015 Lexus IS 250 sedan fuel consumption specs stands at 21 mpg for city, 30 mpg for highways and 24 mpg combined, while its IS 250 AWD model fuel ratings stands at 20 mpg for city, 27 mpg for highways and 23 mpg combined. Clearly, it can be seen that the Lexus IS 250 models are more fuel efficient than the IS 350 models. The difference is the price you’d have to pay for using the more powerful model.

The 2015 Lexus IS Sedan is the hallmark of excellence and creativity. Unlike other sedans within its price range, it has taken safety to a whole new level by featuring more safety features than its predecessors. The average price hovers around 9 to N10million naira for the IS 250 models, depending on the options and specs. While the average price of the IS 350 model revolves around N10 to 11million. From the prices stated above, one can see that the2015 Lexus IS sedan is clearly out of the reach of the common man, but then, that’s what makes the 2015 Lexus IS what it is, a luxury ride for the affluent!
