There are reports that City's hieracrhy might give Pellgrini some time more to steer the ship until the end of the season, before they move in on Guardiola.

City are banking on their Sporting Director, Txiki Begiristain and CEO, Ferran Soriano to use their relationship with Guardiola durig their time together at Barcelona, to make the deal happen.

“Txiki and Ferran have a real relationship with Pep," a source told the tabloid.

“There is a belief one day Pep will arrive at City.

“Given he’s under contract at Bayern people wonder if he is attainable. But let’s see what might happen next summer.”.
